Finland is a country of extreme contrasts – chilly winters and golden summers, and animated cosmopolitan cities mixed with vast expanses of secluded wilderness.
Driving around Finland is hassle-free. Roads are well maintained and extensive between cities, although there are only a few motorways around major cities. There is usually parking in city centres, look for signs saying keskusta (town centre). Only in remote forests and rural areas will you find unsurfaced roads or dirt tracks and there are no road tolls in Finland.
Visit the modern capital Helsinki or the towns of Jyväskylä, Kuopio, Lappeenranta, Oulu & Rovaniemi – gateway to Lapland and geographically the largest town in Europe. Or get off the beaten track and visit one of the numerous national parks including Koli National Park, & Nuuksio National Park.
World Drive Holidays offers discount car hire throughout Finland with Avis who have many convenient rental locations in all major cities and towns, with a wide selection of vehicles to rent.
